Production of the sitcom
10/01/2019
Today, I spent hours writing my script for the sitcom. The sitcom does not have a name yet as I am still thinking of a catchy name instead of a simple boring one. This script is only my first draft and after I get feedback from people I will take their feedback into consideration and improve my script in the second draft. Overall, I am currently happy with the script I have made as I believe there is a lot of jokes and funny moments that will make the audience laugh. For the first draft I have used a technique called "6 laugh lines" This basically means that on a page there is at least 6 lines on a page that will make the audience laugh. This helps a lot in producing the sitcom as jokes and laughing is the main part of a sitcom. I have printed the script out and the class will be hearing it.

Today, I wrote my second draft of the script, I took in note of the feedback and I improved my script, I changed the opening scene and added another funny scene. I have also changed my title as you can see by the picture to "Hardly Students". This is because they are students but they hardly seem like students when they talk and go about their day In school. This may not be a confirmed title but for now I like the sound of "Hardly Students". Also as you can see by the picture this is my second draft, from the feedback the first draft wasn't bad but theres always room for improvement.

Today we organised job roles etc for our sitcoms. I will be directing my own sitcom "hardly students" and I will also be helping out on Laura's sitcom "the followers". I am directing my own and Laura is directing hers. My job roles on "the followers" is set design and cinematographer. Laura is director and location manager. Matthew is the editor + 1st assistant director + script supervisor. Eden is director of photography, Lewis is sound manager and Anya is acting but also costume manager and art director. For my sitcom I am the director, Matthew is editor + 1st assistant director, Laura is set design + location manager + art director, Eden is director of photography + sound manager, Lewis is cinematographer + lighting manager and Anya is an actor but also editor and script supervisor. We all know our job roles for both sitcoms and we also know the location and some props that are needed. My cast is fixed and chosen but a few extra is needed to walk past in the corridors and streets.
Sitcom production diary
This is my crew for the sitcom. Laura is the art director and location manager. Eden is cinematographer and sound manager. Mathew is my 1st assistant director and editor. Anya is also the editor but also in costume. Lewis is in charge of the lighting and is also the camera operator. I am the director and writer for the sitcom as mine got chosen. Also Laura is the director of her sitcom and I am the camera operator and also set design on hers.
Director- As a director I have prepared a schedule for days the filming takes place, I have a clear vision of the project and what i want the end product to look like. I am working with the crew with things like camera planning etc. Also I have got the cast i want in my sitcom and meeting will take place on rehearsals. Also, a makeup team has been organised and will be in location in time to get all the makeup done ready for filming.
Camera - I am directing my own but also a camera operator on Laura. I am supporting the director with the shots and I am responsible for the camera operation with Eden. She is the DOP. Multicamera is used and a tripod will be used for steadiness.
Set design - On Laura's sitcom I am also set design, I help the camera operator with camera planning but I also design the set on how it should look. For example if its a classroom I will design the room to look like a classroom ready for filming.

Today we had a meeting together to inform each other on what we have done so far. Everyone now fully understands their job role. Also I had a meeting with some students from game to help with the interactive part. Separate scripts will be made eventually to film them. We are working on sorting out a shooting schedule.
